This is a collection of images taken at Orpheus Park on February the third, 2009, while Andrew Watkins (Jru) was sitting in the tree trying to protect it from being cut down by Encinitas. This was Jru's fifth day in the tree. All day long people were bringing food and water to give what they could, of humanitarian support. Even more support was given by a couple people that sat in the tree with Jru and played music, talked, or just sat there with him. ... One of the high points in the day was when some local mothers brought their children by. The children were unconcernedly allowed, even encouraged, to join Jru in the tree. During the time they spent in the tree, they ate lunch, colored, helped Jru write a poem for Barak Obama. While I was with Jru for only about 6 hours in the tree, there were three tv crews coming by to get some new video. It was a little amusing to see two of the tree sitters taking turns being the "Drew" for the media people.
